ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP

Disasters and accidents happen to our properties putting occupants at risk. Asbestos is a remaining issue and mold has the chance to be present without noticeable water damage. Whatever the problem may be Summit is here to help protect, preserve and restore your property. We strive to make living environments safe.

Asbestos Abatement

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that was once credited for its versatility, heat resistance, tensile strength and insulating properties. It was used for everything from fire-proof vests to home and commercial construction. It was also woven into fabric and mixed with cement. It has since been discovered that asbestos possesses several health risks including cancer and respiratory problems.  Many older properties may contain asbestos in ceilings, insulation, or tiles.

Summit is certified to test for, and safely remove asbestos from your property in compliance to health and safety standards.

Mold is part of our natural environment and can be found indoors and outdoors. There are over 100,000 different types of mold, but not all molds are a threat. Some are fairly benign and some can cause health problems if it continues to grow and spread. Molds found in homes are usually fairly harmless, and don't cause serious illness, but can be cause for concern if an individual has allergies or asthma.  Molds, such as black mold, can release toxic spores that can easily get into your system and cause health problems if not addressed properly. Not only can mold cause health issues, but it can grow rapidly and cause damage to your home.  Summit's crews are trained to deal with the different types of mold, and they will properly take care of the mold to prevent further damage to your home, and health.

Biohazard decontamination is a sensitive and high risk type of work.  It has potential health and safety risks, which require precautionary measures, and up to date certifications. Summit's technicians are fully up to date with the protocols of biohazard cleanup, sanitation and restoration.  Biohazard cleanups include – trauma scene decontamination, rodent droppings and carcasses, sewage remediation and odor control.

Radon is a colorless, odorless and tasteless radioactive gas that is formed from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water. It exits in the ground and can seep into your property through cracks and holes in the foundation it can also contaminate well water. The only way to find out if your property contains Radon gas is to have it tested by professionals. How does Radon affect you? When you breathe in Radon its radioactive particles can get trapped in your lungs and over time these particles increase your risk of getting lung cancer.
